Proofpoint E-mail Protection
Xandor email users will be aware of the increase in targeted, malicious “phishing” email making its way into people’s inboxes.
We are addressing this growing risk to the business by deploying further systems from our email security provider: Proofpoint.
Proofpoint provide a cutting-edge email security system, which sits in front of our existing email system, keeping your inbox clean.
What
is changing?
We are adding two more Proofpoint systems to further protect you
from dangerous emails:
Threat
Response Auto Pull (TRAP)
TRAP is a system which remove malicious emails from your inbox after
they have been delivered. This is to
catch any new, emerging “zero day” attacks which slipped through our perimeter
systems, but have since been proven to be malicious.
You do not need to do anything in order to use TRAP, it is an autonomous system looking after your inbox.
Quarantine
Instead of all malicious email being sent to your “Junk” folder in Outlook, they will be sent to the Quarantine. You can access your quarantine using your web browser and going to
https://quarantine.xandor.com:10020/
You should log in using your @xandor.com Microsoft login details. These are the same credentials you use to log into Teams and Service Desk.
From the portal you can release emails as well as blacklist or whitelist senders, without having to contact Service Desk.
When is this changing?
This will be changing after 15:00, tomorrow, 22nd July and will be completed by the end of the day. From 23rd July you can assume the system is now live.
What do I do differently?
The only change is that dangerous email should no longer appear in your “Junk” folder. If you think something has been quarantined by mistake, you can check via the web portal.
