We have been made aware of a CRITICAL security vulnerability in the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Web Browsers which is known to be actively exploited.
If you are using Google Chrome and / or Microsoft Edge to browse the Internet, please can you take the following steps to ensure that these are updated to the latest release ASAP:
Google Chrome:
Open Google Chrome
In the address bar, type: chrome//settings/help
This will display the “About Chrome” page.
If your Chrome browser is running the latest release, you will see a message similar to the screenshot below stating that “Chrome is up to date”
If an update is required, Chrome will automatically download this and then you will be prompted to restart the browser by clicking on the “Relaunch” button.
Microsoft Edge:
Open Microsoft Edge
In the address bar, type: edge//settings/help
This will display the “About Microsoft Edge” page.
If your Microsoft Edge browser is running the latest release, you will see a message similar to the screenshot below stating that “Microsoft Edge is up to date”
